Basics 101 – Exploding Lollies
Basics 101 (Exploding Lollies) is the first workshop in our Basics Series program; This introductory workshop will attempt to remove a lot of the mystery surrounding cake decorating and introduce beginners to some fundamentals such as setting up a cake with ganache and covering a round cake with rolled fondant icing, creating cut-out decorations and decorations on wires. Students will be guided through the decoration of an exploding stars cake suitable for any occasion and learn how to achieve PC’s famous sharp edges.
The round cake is the first shape we teach in the Basics Series and is a perfect place to start for beginners, on completing a round cake your next step in the basics series will be a Basics 102. Planet Cake’s goal is to teach students skills that they can replicate at home with the same results. All classes are taught by qualified teachers and enough time to give students one on one time for incredible results.
Duration: 7 Hours
• Introduction to materials and equipment
• Set up a 6 inch round cake with ganache
• Colour icing
• Cover a round cake with fondant icing
• Ice a board
• Create decorations
• Create wired decorations
